Fitting Instructions for Getta Start kit

The POWERMAC GETTA-START is the simplest way of ensuring that you have the best start possible and the chance to make up positions when the lights go green.
The aim of product is to clear the crankcase of excess fuel so when the lever is released the engine receives exactly the correct amount of fresh fuel right when the engine needs it.
Some of our more experienced Karters will squeeze their fuel lines on the roll around laps to try to get that edge. However for most of us it is awkward and dangerous. With the Powermac “GETTA START” you can achieve a far better result simpler and more safely whilst keeping both hands on the wheel.

Its advantages are:
1. Smooth and clean starts at the green light.
2. Can lean out the carburetor for easier starts on the grid.
3. Can lean out the engine in the straight for more straight line speed
4. Fits most karts with no modification.
5. The easiest way to get that elusive edge on the opposition.

Please check to see that the following parts are included with this kit;
(1) 380mm. length of DPE new spec soft fuel line.
(1) Handle control assembly.
(1) Fuel shutoff assembly.
(1) Cable.

Attach the shutoff block to the side of the seat with 2 cable ties (supplied) as per Photo. The supplied fuel hose should be fitted between the carby and the fuel filter.
Mount the hand control on between the steering boss and the steering wheel in the ten o’clock position or other position if preferred.

The fuel line passes through the shutoff block and connects to the Carby on one end; the other end is fitted to the fuel filter. A 380mm. length of fuel hose is supplied.
Note:
The fuel hose used must be of the later soft type. The new spec. DPE soft hose is ideal.

Mounting of the hand control is simple and requires the removal of the three steering wheel mounting bolts and inserting the multi positional base plate between the wheel and the steering boss.

The cable is routed down the steering column and down to the shutoff valve and is connected at the fuel shutoff block using the cable connector (supplied). Make sure that the cable does not foul on the various parts of the kart unduly or kinky and stiff operation may result.

OPERATION
Operate the lever on the lead up to the start. The engine will noticeably lean out and you should be letting just enough fuel through to keep the engine running, releasing it 20-30 meters before the lights go green. The supply of fuel to the engine is almost instant and the engine will pull away cleanly achieving the best acceleration time possible.

The other important advantage with this tool is when being pushed off at the grid. If your engine has flooded, or it is clear the engine has loaded up and the plug is partially fouled you can operate the fuel shut off to lean the engine out and in most cases the plug will clear itself leaving you still in the race.
